3-hour walking tour

You will start the tour near the Kopernik monument (Krakowskie Przedmieście Street) – Kopernik is the author of the model of the universe placing the Sun at its center. From there you will proceed to the Holy Cross Church – a beautiful Baroque building where the heart of Frederic Chopin is still beating.

Then you will stand in front of the main gate to the largest university in Poland – the University of Warsaw.

The Presidential Palace – which hosted the authors of the Constitution of May 3, 1791 is your next stop from which you will move to The Pilsudski Square – a place where many public events take place and where the Tomb of Unknown Soldier is located.

You will be back at Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street and proceed to the St. Anne’s Church – you will go to the viewing terrace from which you will see the Old Town.

Another important point of your tour, located between the Old and the New Town, is the Warsaw Barbican that once encircled Warsaw.

At the Castle Square you will see Sigismund’s Column which was built to commemorate one of our kings Sigismund III Vasa, who in 1596 moved Poland’s capital from Krakow to Warsaw.

Then you will admire the magnificent Royal Castle – a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was completely rebuilt and reconstructed after its destruction during World War II.

Near the Royal Castle, the gothic St. John’s Archcathedral is situated. Its construction started in 1390 and it is the only archcathedral in Warsaw.

At the oldest part of the Old Town – the Old Town Market Place – the Warsaw Mermaid has been standing there since 1855.

In the New Town there is the house in which Maria Sklodowska-Curie was born. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize.

5-hour walking tour

The route of this tour is the same as the one described above but the order is reversed. So, you start at the Krasinskich Square, visit all the places listed in the 3-hour tour and after the Kopernik monument you proceed to the Saxon Garden – the oldest public park in Warsaw.

The next stop is Grzybowski Square which was the former heart of Jewish culture in Warsaw.

You will also have a unique chance to see the remains of the Ghetto Wall. The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest of all the Jewish ghettos in Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II.

The last point of your tour – the Palace of Culture and Science is the highest building in Warsaw and was Stalin’s gift to the people of Poland. You will get to the 30th floor from which whole Warsaw will bevisible.

7-hour walking tour

From the Palace of Culture and Science you will move to the Royal Lazienki Park which consists of the Royal Gardens, which have been existing there since the 18th century, Frederic Chopin’s monument which is a significant point as Chopin was Poland’s most famous composer and one of the greatest in the world. There Chopin Concerts take place during the summer on Sundays at 12 and 4pm (free of charge).

Also, you will see the Palace on the Isle whose origins are dated back to the late seventeenth century, the Old Orangery where the Royal Theatre is situated – it is one of the few authentic eighteenth-century wooden court theatres in Europe that survived, and the Myslewicki Palace, which in the 19th century served as a guest house, hosting for example Napoleon I and U.S. President Richard Nixon.
